The TCMMY Inspiration Station
Inspiration Station - The Transitional Period Pt 3 (Microwave Mentality)
Have you ever found yourself rushing through life's transitional periods, desperate to reach your destination without appreciating the journey? You're not alone.
The Inspiration Station podcast is now audio-only, allowing our listeners to absorb these powerful messages during commutes and busy moments. This shift represents our own transition, and it perfectly frames our current series on navigating life's in-between spaces.
We live in a world dominated by what I call the "microwave mentality" – give it to me hot, quick, now, fast. While this approach might work for fast food and information consumption, it fails miserably when applied to meaningful life changes. True transformation requires time, intention, and a willingness to learn.
Consider the garden metaphor: most crops struggle in their first year but experience exponential growth in the second, third, and fourth seasons. Your transition is the same way – a seed planted that requires patience before revealing its abundant harvest. The children of Israel turned an 11-day journey into a 40-year wandering because they refused to learn the lessons their wilderness was teaching. Don't make the same mistake.
Your transition isn't a burden; it's a classroom. It's not a permanent dwelling but a temporary passage designed to shape you into the person you need to be for your destination. When you resist this process through complaining, self-centeredness, or refusing to learn from mistakes, you only extend your stay in the wilderness.
Share your transition stories with us in the comments or DMs. How has this series helped you view your in-between season differently? Leave us a review on Apple Podcasts and join the conversation about embracing life's necessary slowdowns as catalysts for your greatest breakthroughs.

Speaker 1:Welcome back to the inspiration station, and they call me mr U. Thanks again for watching and listening. We are on a new arc for our podcast. In case you guys were not aware, we are going audio only for the Inspiration Station. That's new for us. We started our podcasting journey all audio only Some of the best work I've ever done, done some of the most inspirational stuff I've ever taught and shared, and I learned so much from it myself. So I'm just excited and pumped to be in a position to bring that to the people. It seems that our listeners enjoy the audio only because of their busy lifestyles, commuting, things of that nature. So we want to give you at least one of our four shows as audio only, and the inspiration station is the one that made the cut. So we're pretty excited about the opportunity to be before you again and if you have been listening.
Speaker 1:Recently we've been talking about transition. I'm gonna get into it. I'm not quite sure how many episodes we have left of this, so we'll do the best we can with the time that we've been allotted, man, but thank you so much for supporting us and for continuing to download the show and even leave us reviews on Apple Podcasts. Thank you so much. I could say, give me a five star review. I mean, I do appreciate that, but I love hearing what you think about the show, myself as a host and the topics that we talk about on a regular basis. So thanks again for listening, for tuning in, for sharing us and for downloading the episodes and, of course, for leaving reviews for the Inspiration Station. So thanks again for doing that. Now, we were talking about what it means to go through the transition.
Speaker 1:We all have to deal with it, but it seems like we just, at times, we deal with it a little differently. Sometimes we approach it as if it is a burden or a season that is a lot longer than what it's designed to be. Sometimes we look at it as something that is undesirable. We want to just get to the point, get to the destination, get to the thing you know, around us we have a mindset and you can see it everywhere you look. It's not really hard to find. It's kind of a microwave mentality around us Give it to me hot, give it to me quick. Give it to me now. Give it to me fast. Give it to me hot, give it to me quick, give it to me now, give it to me fast. It's really about getting everything quickly Information, fast food, data, whatever it is, just give it to me fast. I want it quickly. And that's not how life works. The world around us is kind of showing, or it's kind of emblematic of that's how things are right now. But at the end of the day, where it really counts, that's not what it should look like.
Speaker 1:I think all of us have experienced some kind of transition in our life at some point or another. Perhaps we mischaracterized it and we didn't realize it was an actual transition. Transition, an opportunity for us to slow down so we can speed up. An opportunity for us to kind of navigate the wilderness that we were in and learn something about ourselves in the process, that when we get to our destination, we're able to fully function and be effective in that place, if that makes sense to you. Often we don't realize and I use the children of Israel as an example on the previous couple of episodes, I believe but we don't realize that the transition is there to teach us, to shape us, to form us so that we can be the version of ourselves that we need to be on the other side of the wilderness situation, on the other side of the transition, and there's so many things that we can learn here, but let's keep going. I want to try to use our time wisely here. We can learn here, but let's keep going. I want to try to use our time wisely here. One of the things that I think is important is look at this situation of a transition, look at it as a seed, even if you don't grow anything, if you don't grow anything in your garden, maybe you don't have a garden, maybe you don't have a plant in your house garden, maybe you don't have a plant in your house. Just visualize it with me. Anyway, imagine the transitional period as a seed, as an opportunity to plant something. One of the things if you watch our show or if you even subscribe to our YouTube channel, youtubecom, at theycallmemisteryou, you'll see one of our playlists called Goshen, and that is where we show all of the growth that's happening in our garden.
Speaker 1:For the near 10 years now, we've been growing everything fruits, vegetables, herbs, you name it. We've been growing it in some way shape or form with some level of success. And we realized today we were out in the garden working on some things to kind of clean some things up, get some things rearranged and getting ready for the winter season, and we realized that you know most of the things that we grew, they didn't have a great first year. Something sprouted up immediately but there was something maybe 60% of the crops that we have out there right now. They didn't grow great in the first year. The first year was rough, it was rugged out there and it didn't look great. But the second year, the following year, it was astronomically better. It was light years from where it was the first year, and the third year it was even better. That double, triple, quadruple the year that we had in that second year.
Speaker 1:What am I saying in all? That your time in the transition should be looked at as a seed. Look at it as an opportunity to plant something of value so that when you get to the other side of this slowdown period. You get to the other side of this educational learning period that the transition actually is. It's not a drudgery, it's a learning period for you. When you get to the other side of it, you're going to be so much better off. You're going to see so much growth in your life. You're going be so much better off. You're going to see so much growth in your life. You're going to see so much breakthrough. You're going to see yourself as a person that maybe you don't even recognize. You're way better than you were. You're way wiser than you were before. You're way more effective in what you're doing. You're a way better speaker. You're a way better thinker. Transition is doing that. You're way better speaker. You're way better thinker. Transition is supposed to make us better, not make us worse. The only time that it makes us worse is when we don't accept the teaching that's taking place in the transition.
Speaker 1:I'll harken back again to the children of israel. An 11-day journey from egypt, which is symbolic and emblematic of slavery and bondage, to a place of freedom and liberty. It should have been an 11-day journey altogether. It took them 40 years. Some of you listening are not even that old yet. It took them 40 years. It should have been 11 days. Could you imagine getting in your car for an 11-day trip across the country and it takes you 40 years to get to the West Coast? Could you imagine the frustration you're feeling, the angst, the anxiety, or just being ticked off? Why is this taking so long? It's because they didn't receive the learning that was taking place during the transitional period. They fought against the instruction, they fought against the teacher, and for that their journey was longer, exponentially longer than it had to be.
Speaker 1:There's a proverb that I love that somebody said I don't know who it's attributed to, but it says the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now, even if your life isn't where you want it to be. These are the times to create disciplines and to create positive lifestyle choices, put things in practice and habits to help you be the kind of person that you want to be, to become, to see the kind of changes you want to see. If we don't, if we try to avoid the process and try to take shortcuts, the journey is going to be a lot slower and a lot longer than we want it to be, and it's not necessary If we have a complaining attitude. If we have a negative, it's about me mindset. If we can't learn from the mistakes that we've made five minutes ago, much less five years ago, or we just don't trust God. If we don't have any faith and confidence that this is going to help us, we're going to grow through this. We're going to have a long time in the transitional period and what ended up happening with the children of Israel could happen in our lives.
Speaker 1:Whole generations died in the wilderness just because they refused to receive the training and the learning process that was taking place. Whole generations perished in a place of transition where they were supposed to be learning and growing and gleaning and, most importantly, to be learning and growing and gleaning and, most importantly, maturing. They were instead dying off. People talk about how time heals all wounds, but that's a lie. A lot of people who are hurt from 60 years ago and they still haven't been healed yet. So time is not helping with that. We got to be intentional about taking care of ourselves. We got to be intentional about where we of ourselves. We got to be intentional about where we are, recognizing the season that we're in and taking the right steps to get there.
Speaker 1:Honestly, if you're in a transition right now and you're struggling with the idea of that. I'd love to help you offline if you'd love to embrace the idea of having to talk about that. Maybe perhaps these podcast episodes and these series on transition is helping you. I'd love to hear the testimonials about what you learned and what you're seeing has changed about you and how you view your situation. Share that with us. Hit us up in our DMs on social media or, of course, in the comment comments section, wherever you're viewing this episode.
Speaker 1:But this transition is merely an in-between. That's all it is. It's all supposed to be. You're not supposed to be picking up a tent and getting new furniture and staying there and living there. This is a place to pass through. You're not supposed to be living here permanently. Understand that about the transition that you're in right now it's supposed to be temporary. You shouldn't be staying there. In that it's an in-between place. It's not a place that you should get comfortable with If it's like a desert, you can't get comfortable in the desert.
Speaker 1:See it as a school. See it as a growth opportunity for you, because, more than likely, if you stop long enough to think about what you're in and how this looks how this feels, how you're handling it and the perspective you should get from it. I guarantee you you're going to learn something about yourself that you may not like, an idea or behavior or attitude that you need to shed so you can be the person that you aspire to be. Honestly, there's no other way around this. You can't get to the other side of what you're looking for without going through the transition. It's the in-between point. You have to go through it. Thanks for watching and listening to our show. Hit us up in the comment section. Leave us a review on Apple Podcasts. Have a great day, thanks.
